Abstract: |
3D data acquiring tools are expensive and need expertise to handle device and data. Project aims to create cost-effective dynamic point cloud generation tool for shortrange objects mapping. It consists of Microcontroller, motor, distance sensor, IMU, SD card and mobile platform to mount device. It is vital in 3D closed infrastructures mapping. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Real 3D modelling is not common due to high cost and associated skills. Data collection from various sites can bring huge modernism in initiatives, but due to lack of resources, some aspects of the projects are ignored. Need of affordable 3D data collection will be met by our device. |

How will the solution works |
IMU & installed sensor give the output of roll, pitch, yaw & distance of a point in 3D space. Using these, relative position of point is gained. Both sensors are linked to stepper motor that moves them 45° vertically with an interval of 1.8°. This system is adhered to other stepper motor that moves it horizontally. Gadget scans vertically; travels 1.8° horizontally & this goes on. IoT system will be mounted on mobile platform. |
