The aim is to develop an IoT-based smart irrigation system for the automatic supply of water to the crops and to check favorable conditions for pesticides, and also nutrient deficiency by keeping in mind the upcoming weather conditions. | |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? | |
Due to global warming climatic conditions are continuously changing and unpredicted rainfalls occur. According to a survey, more than 60 percent of water is lost during irrigation in Pakistan. The lack of knowledge about proper time for irrigation is the major reason for losses. | |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? | |
Definitely country like Pakistan, where economy depends upon the agriculture so farmers need it. This system will save our water resources and also will increase the loss of fertilizers. | |
How will the solution works | |
The sensors in the field will collect the data from the field. That data will be sent on the cloud with the help of communication module. On cloud some part of data will be used by Machine Learning Algorithm to predict the weather condition. On the basis of weather condition the decision of operation of water pump will be performed. | |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different | |
It has been done by some XYZ university students but that project was limited to less number of sensors and there was no weather forecasting involved. With the help of Machine learning Algorithms KNN and Neural Netowrks, this system will predict the best suitable conditions for watering the crops. | |
