| Abstract: |
| Soil liquefaction is a geotechnical Phenomenon in saturated granular soils. These soils upon receiving dynamic loading (like earthquake) consolidate and liquidates resulting in loss of strength and eventual settlement and collapse. Different sites will be tested upon and the samples will be analyzed in the lab for soil susceptibility. Remedies will be put forth for construction in such areas. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| There is not much research and awareness about the phenomenon of soil liquefaction and its mitigation in Pakistan. The research will resultantly educate students by bringing out some possible remedies against liquefaction phenomenon against potential soils and sites. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| Any type of infrastructure gets effected from Soil Liquefaction if the concerned area is susceptible. Our Research will identify susceptibility of certain areas and will put forth potential remedies. Data and conclusions drawn from this project will be helpful for any potential research in future. |

| The Project will address the the problem of lack of awareness and understanding of this phenomenon by educating the students about it. |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| As mentioned in the earlier answer, the awareness and understanding of this phenomenon is not common in Pakistan. This is the very reason for choosing this topic to emphasize its importance and understanding. |
