Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2) has been reported to show great storage capacity for Lithium ion but has poor conducitvity for electrons. Hence , Carbon Nano tubes (with enhanced electron conductivity) are used as substrates and MoS2 nanoflowers are grown on its surface theough a facile hydrothermal method to synthesize Li-ion Anodes. | |

Cleaner , Affordable Energy for Automobile sector as MoS2 is relatively economical substitute for active battery electrode materials in comparison to pure MoS2 or pure CNTs or other carbon compounds. | |

To harness the benefits of this enhanced prototypical anode, we will have to develop the electrolyte , seperator and the cathode to have properties that work in sync with each other. So as ambitious as it is , it would require considerable amount of R&D to fully develop a electrochemical cell. | |
How will the solution works | |
Functionalized CNTs are used as templates to grow MoS2 structures on its surface. MoS2 with greater ion storage capacity and CNTs with enhanced electron conductivity work in synergy to catalyze redox reactions taking place at the electrode. | |

Precursor materials used to functionalize CNTs have shown greater catalytic activity than traditional method. Morphology proposed for the MoS2 features greater : volumetric expansion mitigation ; interlayer storage capacity for lithium ion and better structural integration. | |
