In Egypt, reading ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs is a very challenging task for a normal tourist. Hence we created an app that can translate Egyptian Hieroglyphs on Deep learning. This app is basically designed for tourists who love to visit Egypt. hire guides who help them to read and translate the Egyptian hieroglyphs. These local guides charge a lot of money from these tourists. | |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? | |
The main purpose of this application is to help tourists by providing them with a platform where they can easily access the application and translate the Egyptian Hieroglyphs through our deep learning algorithm. Since we saw many scams in Egypt when people hired the local guides. | |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? | |
The people who will be at the benefit will be the tourists who visit Egypt time after time. We also included the feature of dictionary in it due to which people can learn and understand about the Egyptian hieroglyphs. In short, anyone who is keen to learn about Egypt can gain benefit from it. | |
How will the solution works | |
The solutions work on deep learning. We trained our algorithm on the dataset we created and after training it time by time, our algorithm was able to detect and translate the algorithm. We used the SSD algorithm for the job due to its smaller model size and also it provided more FPS on mobile. The main advantage we had was that it could work on a smaller amount of datasets which was our main problem however we encountered that problem by the solution of augmentation. | |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different | |
Right now we don’t see our competitors because our idea is new and unique. We are providing solution to such a problem that can’t be denied and tourists need this very much. Right now our main focus is Egyptian hieroglyphs but in the futur we will add more ancient languages so that people can learn. | |
